BLACKTOWN AND DISTRICTS SOCCER FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION INC. MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD 09/05/07 AT FRANCIS PARK ATTENDANCE J. TAYLOR, R. PALMER, D. SIM, L. ARCHER, J. NEAL, N. TOOMEY, D. STANTON, L. SMITH, J. BOYLE. APOLOGIES I. WESTRAY, I. McCUTCHEON, 07/103 The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted Matters arising: Nil 07/104 MSA Suspend standing orders to meet with the Female Development Clubs that have U14girls. Dane welcomed everyone to the meeting and handed over to Jack. Jack - Over the last few weeks we have received the same type of letter from clubs as we did after the first round of competition. Everyone that wrote saw a solution, we can't. All competitions have the same problems someone will win and someone will lose. Some of our girls have never played the game before and some have been with Spartans and have played together for years. One of Prospects teams are losing badly, whilst the other is doing well in the other division, Doonside, Kings Langley and Plumpton are not travelling well. Clubs with two teams were asked if they had graded the teams - they replied that the older girls were placed in one group the younger girls in the other. Some clubs raised the issue of Conferencing the teams and asked why one division of 12 teams was not made from the outset. Jack - we put them into two groups (not divisions) as the MC had made a conscious decision that we will never play a 22 round competition again and decided that the top two from each group would contest the Final series. Clubs having two teams were moved into separate groups and others at random. The MC tried to avoid the acrimony that builds when two teams from one club have to play each other.(in this case maybe 4 times) Is the problem that you want to have two final series. Yes Quakers Hill requested all teams be conferenced and play each other again once. MC asked how that would solve the high scores against some teams. Doonside - many of the girls are getting disheartened Plumpton - ours are saying they wont be back next year. Kings Langley - ours are enjoying themselves and are improving each week. Jack - If one of these teams found a good player do we come back again to discuss this. Lengthy discussion ensued with many items put up for discussion. Dane thanked everyone for attending and we will get back to you with our decision. 07/105 MSA resume standing orders 07/106 CORRESPONDENCE 1. Prospect United registration payment 2. U12-3 result should be Eastern Creek 3 v's Lourdes 0 U14 girls results for Quakers Hill and Glenwood Matildas and Sapphires were recorded for the wrong teams they have now been fixed 07/116 P & D C REPORT 1. As tabled 2. CLUBS PLEASE NOTE: a. The Technical Area- I would remind all coaches, managers and substitutes that they are to be situated in the designated technical area, which is marked out by the clubs. b. When officials are asked by any club official (eg. Match Day Supervisor or Ground Official) requesting that they either move into a particular area, that they do so, this has not been the case thus far, and subsequently a club manager was charged with disobeying a lawful request by an official, indicating his not moving unless showed the rules. c. Also we have had an increase of coaches being asked to appear for abusing or disputing the referees decision, I therefore would draw all coaches and officials to the Coaches Code of Conduct and these incidents cease. 07/117 REGISTRAR'S REPORT 1. As tabled 2. We did a spot check last Friday there were no major problems, only that a player played half a game in one division and then moved to the field and played the other of the game with another division. 3. Janice Brooks has offered to help with team sheet checks. 07/119 COMPETITION SECRETARY'S REPORT 1. Thank you to the office for looking after the competition while I was away. 2. Clubs please keep checking the website for changes while your teams are in the State Cup Competition. 07/120 GENERAL BUSINESS 1. FDC - U14 girls. Discussion points:- Conferencing - not in the best interest of the girls teams currently experiencing difficulties. Re-grade the teams - as the U14s are still one division playing in two groups they would not be seen as a re-grade, but a movement of teams from group to group. Leave it as is - MC thought of the players need and not of those interested parties. The MC were disappointed in the views of some visitors. It was muted that Female Development Clubs should be discussed at further meetings and resolve the role of female development in the district. Noted that team gradings were check as to age of players in clubs with two teams. MSA That the U14 Girls play round 6 as a "social match" to allow re-grouping. MSA That the U14s be re-grouped and play one match against each other. MSA That after these matches the situation be reviewed again with a possible third re-group. MSA that the U14 Girls are still viewed as 1 division and the issue of playing extra grand finals be reviewed at a later date. 2. Did we enter a float in the Blacktown City Festival. No I thought we decided not to ahead with it this year. 3. Neville St Pats still wish to go ahead with the appeal. Have they paid the fine yet. No. The appeal wont be set until they have paid the fine. 4. Next week we have the clubs in for the off monthly meeting. We are having Bruce Drake in from Department of Sport and Rec to run a Conflict resolution course. meeting closed |
