I have had an email from a Trevor Keayes about Summer Soccer and do no tknow what its about.
Jack - Trevor is the President of Prospect United and they will be running a Summer competition and I would think they want referee's. I will send you a set of rules for Summer Soccer.
Robert - We had a referee assaulted on the weekend and he will be having surgery on his jaw.
We will be inviting two people to attend our dinner on Saturday 15th September at Blacktown Bowling Club.
Ian - how many roo ball referee's converted to full field this year.
Robert - we had 14. Next year we will be having a two day course for roo ball referee's
Laurie - Will we be having assistants for all games from U9's up.
Robert - Yes there should be assistants for all, will they be paid.
Jack - Yes we will instruct the Clubs that if they have assistants they must be paid.
Jim - are we taking photos this year.
Jack - Yes
Jim - can we instruct the referee's that this will be happening and that we are allowed to be on the grounds.
Robert - Thank you for all your support this year it has been a real eye opener to me.
07/314 MSA resume standing orders
07/315 COMPETITION SECRETARY'S REPORT
1. Due to the bad weather on the weekend, we have a number of matches postponed. Only 5 of them have a bearing on the competition and were set down for replay through this week. A number of these teams, those who would be unaffected by one more match have forfeited the game.
A long discussion ensued and many scenarios were discussed.
The MC moved that some of the forfeits were contrary to the spirit of the game.
The MC expressed their disappointment but moved to accept the forfeits and take time to review the by laws.
07/316 SECRETARY MANAGERS REPORT
1. We attend the Sydney Branch appeal last Thursday night. The committee determined that the player would be placed on a 12 month suspended sentence.
2. We have cited all people concerned with assault on the referee and have advised them that it will be cancelled until the referee is able to attend.
3. Finals nominations - they have been checked but we are missing many.
The rules state that teams must be nominated prior to the semi series. Question - what happens if the nominations aren't received - the team doesn't play.
4. Rules and By Laws changes tabled and discussed at length
5. The U10's academy went well on Friday night. I did make an announcement to the parents that this isn't trials for Spartans.
6. Lee Newton's ashes were spread at Valentine Park today. The Hubbards attended.
7. Champion of Champions - the buses will cost us over $10,000 this year. We have asked clubs to let us know if they will be taking up the offer so we can confirm how many buses we need. We will need to look at round 3 as we may not be able to subsidise if it is needed.
8. Finals we are waiting for quotes on Port-a-loos, we will need to look at hiring security guards for two nights.
9. Congratulations to Good Shepherd and everyone that assisted with the Roo Ball Gala day it was a great success.
