BLACKTOWN AND DISTRICTS SOCCER FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION INC.
MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD 7/5/2008 AT FRANCIS PARK
ATTENDANCE I. WESTRAY, J. TAYLOR, R. PALMER, D. SIM, L. ARCHER,
N. TOOMEY, L. SMITH, J. BROOKS, J. BOYLE.
Mario Tedone - Blacktown Referee's
APOLOGIES J. NEAL
08/128 Ian welcomed Mario to the meeting; Mario informed the meeting he was here to raise an issue, but was happy to attend the meeting in full.
Ian moved a suspension of Standing Orders to allow Mario to address the MC.
Mario asked if it was true that the President of the BCSRB was in meetings with the Association. Ian replied "no", but Jack pointed out that he and Robert Koffler had a "coffee meeting" to discuss mutual issues and try to find ways of improving the number and standard of referees and to move to a closer working relationship..
Mario said that anything the President of the BCSRB said was to be disregarded and that the President did not speak for the branch in any of these issues, and that no further meetings were to occur. Mario stated that in future if the Branch wished to discuss any matter it would do so with all Executives and that any meeting with Football NSW on this issue were not to be held.
A heated exchange followed.
Jack asked Mario to express his disappointment to his Executive that they do not wish both bodies to work together in the future.
Mario then demanded to know what was discussed at the meeting with Robert and Jack.
Jack suggested that if he wished to know he should either ask his President or come back with his Executive.
The MC noted that Mario was attending this meeting alone, whilst complaining about his President attending a meeting alone.
Mario was given the opportunity to contact another Branch Executive to come immediately to the meeting or leave, Mario left the meeting.
The issue was moved to General Business

2. Report from MPIO course I attended last week. This position should not be held by an Executive, preferably should be a female. We should have strong statements in our policies. All MPIO's should do the Play by the rules on line training.

We have a problem with the number of coaches registered is nowhere near the number of teams we have. The MC will be doing spot checks on coaches to produce their ID cards.

08/145 GENERAL BUSINESS
1. In searching for a player who has continually played for the entire 30 years of the Association, we believe we have a player from Blacktown Workers that has played 29 years with the Association. Clubs are again asked to check for long service players.
2. Referee's - discussion on earlier incidents ; moved that Jack write to them to show our disappointment in the branch. Discussion ensued
3. Question - have we heard from the referee's about the hearing they where to hold re club allegations of racial vilification by a referee to a player - NO still outstanding.
4. Catch up games this weekend. Discussion ensued -
Laurie - I scheduled them for this weekend so they would be out of the way. If we have more rain we could have problems. Ian and I discussed this issue with our clubs and everyone agreed and understood.
Jack asked when are the O35's and girls playing their catch ups.
Laurie - on the June long weekend
Jack there are 90 games not covered by the referee's and that will get worse by the weekend.
John - it is in the minutes from the last meeting that a suggestion was made to move the entire round to the June long weekend if not played. I feel people have read that and think the games will be played then.
Laurie insisted the matches will be played as set down as per the rules.
5. Jack - I will be interviewed by SBS tomorrow about SSG.
meeting closed
