The BDSFA "Blacktown Football Academy" presents its 2008 programme
Whilst our usual high quality Academy Programmes will still be on offer, season 2008 will see the introduction of the Under 8 Superkidz. A specially designed programme for the young Roo Ball players with that little bit extra. The year will be split into semesters to allow the players time to digest the skill level and give parents an opportunity to stay with the programme if their players' skill warrent. Oft the forgotten player, our goal keepers are an integral part of our teams and with the Blacktown Spartans 1st Grade Goal Keeper Coach now a member of the Academy staff our keepers will now be able to participate in courses to improve their skills. A Strikers Course will also be available for all players in need of that "finishing touch". The Academy is overseen by our Development Coach, David Hubbard, one of NSW's highest accredited coaches and staffed by members of Blacktown Spartans staff coaches. The Development Academy will again offer low cost School Holiday Camps, with the first of these being in the April School Holidays. Once again the Blacktown Spartans Senior Team will undertake "Club" visits. Last season saw our players visit clubs to train with local talent. The players and the club participants enjoyed the interchange so much, this years calendar is already full. Our dedication to lifting the grass roots coaches' skill will continue. Already we have held the largest coaching course ever when in March 142 new coaches were accredited. A further Grass Roots Course will be held for those who missed the big day, and 3 Junior License Courses have been set down. Hopefully, demand will be there for a Youth License. |
