2006 saw the introduction of six Female Development Clubs. It was their goal to develop a competition totally dedicated to young female players aged 12-14-16.

NSW State laws do not allow a girl over the age of 12 to participate in mixed teams with boys.
Even prior to the start of the season , these clubs had performed so well that an Under 10 age group was added. A successful season concluded on Grand Final Day when the first of our female teams played off for a birth in the Soccer NSW Champion of Champions.

Following the initial success,  more clubs have been licensed and we now have 11 FDCs. The competition will remain played on Sundays to cater to young girls with other commitments and hopefully will lead to a Female Premier League which has also been made available to FDC. The Competition Secretary will also try this year to group these female games together on parks to allow our young players time to develop their skills.

All Clubs have specialised coaches who have been accredited via the National Coaching Scheme and provide balanced, expert training aimed solely at females and under the watchful eye of BDSFA Inc Development Coach David Hubbard.
